Position description

The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks part time instructors to teach one or more courses in the area of Business Analytics and various courses in the online MBA program for the 2023-2024 academic year. These courses are part of the curriculum for the online MBA program.

Applicants should have a Master, PhD or advanced coursework in Business Analytics , and be familiar with standard business and corporate strategy frameworks. Experience teaching with the case method and teaching in an online format preferred. Salary is prorated based on appointment percentage.

Course lists:203BV – Forecasting & Managerial Research Methods

Practical statistical methods for managerial decision making covers regression analysis, time series analysis and forecasting, design and analysis of experiments in managerial research, and contingency table analysis. Application of these methods to marketing, finance, accounting, production, operations, and public policy.

403AV: Data Analysis for Managers
Introduction to statistics and data analysis for managerial decision making. Descriptive statistics, principles of data collection, sampling, quality control, statistical inference. Application of data analytic methods to problems in marketing, finance, accounting, production, operations, and public policy.

406AV: Decision Analytics: Spreadsheet Based
Develops decision-making and problem-solving skills in conjunction with a quantitative model-building approach.

406BV: Decision Analytics: Scalable
Builds on concepts learned in 406A to develop techniques for describing and implementing models that can scale in all dimensions.

475V: R for Business Analytics
Introduces programming concepts and how they can be applied to derive insights from data and make management decisions.

Instructors will hold 10 live online sessions, one per week in a 10-week quarter, reviewing and expanding upon material presented to students in a pre-recorded format. Instructors are also required to assist with course grading and work with the course coordinator to ensure consistency across sections. A fast and stable internet connection is required.

Unit 18 Lecturers are governed under a collective bargaining agreement (American Federation of Teachers (AFT) – Non-Senate Instructional Unit).
